Lap Band Refund

Some of us will never return to normal, but THANK YOU for your thoughtfulness.

Okay, what kind of bonus would you like for a successful band ? Hmmm, I think I would say,
A free gym membership after someone loses 30 pounds and then when they get to 40 lbs, they get a spa pedicure    , 50 lbs, requires a facial...don't you think ?

New clothes are always a BONUS Even though my band harmed me, I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping for clothes now. I hated shopping for clothes pre surgery, but now...OMG I freakin LOVE clothes shopping.

I'm actually sad right now, because all me favorite dresses are hanging on me, and I love these dresses. I'm hoping I can have them taken in, they are so pretty and I would hate to lose them.

Trips to nail spa works for me

 Would be great, and if I could get my money for every diet pill that didn't work, or "as seen on TV" didn't stand up to its claims.... or every second hand car that leaves someone sitting.... or relationship that turns bad.....or anything that we expect to turn out one way in life and it doesn't live up to par.

Thing is there are no guarantees in life, we do what we can with what we have, for some things work out and yet others have to find a different way to go.  I know many people with many types of surgeries that would love to have their money back because "it failed".   The band as with everything else in life is not guaranteed foolproof for all, it sucks for those that it doesn't help but I rejoice for those that it does.  In my ideal world I wouldn't have a weight issue in the first place and wouldn't have to worry about it, or I could use Weigh****chers and get control that way, or hypnosis and control that way, or any number of other options.

...as for me and my fat...its the band that helps us the most (well my fat isn't to fond of it but my butt and waistline sure are!) :)

(But do I wish we could get money back for things that don't work for us as individuals...SURE DO..I would be first in line for many things :)

And yet, it IS known that the lapband is less effective than the advertising would lead people to believe. And it IS known that it is damaging... and many surgeons are opting against doing the lapband surgery. But the advertising doesn't reflect these facts.

As for diet pills... Redux has been shown to be dangerous and there was a class action suit. It's a sure bet that there will be one for the lapband, as well.

Weigh****chers and hypnosis aren't damaging, at least.

What didn't work for some, works for others for whatever reasons.
I am thankful. I wouldn't change a thing. It saved my life.

You have to understand that I had the lapband done back in 2003, had horrible pain and complications from it, came about a day from dying, actually...  and have watched almost every banded person I know go through unfortunate side effects ranging from maladaptive eating to chronic, severe pain. So I post from my own experience... and not to denigrate anyone else's.

I also can't help but think of how Toyota instituted that huge, 4-5 million vehicle recall in 2010-2011 after a few cases of reported unintended acceleration....all of which turned out to be driver error after further investigation.
