Lap Band on 07/06/12
Im in a bit of pain...I'm doing everything I can to get this trapped air out. I also had a hernia repair so I'm trying extremely hard to adjust. I havent been hungry at all but I ate some sugar free jello and half a protein shake.

The odd thing is that I dont feel much different than before. I know I'm not hungry cause of all the meds, but will I notice the lap band soon?

You'll definitely notice it!  I'm only 7 weeks post-op myself, so the memory is fresh...  Once you're off the meds and start to feel normal, you'll feel hungry, but a few bites of applesauce or yogurt will make you feel satisfied for hours!  It's so weird at first.  Keep up with the protein shakes and water, and take it slowly.  Oh and congratulations.  :)

You will feel it eventually. I also had hernia repair and mr dr said there is swelling and that gives you the (restriction if you will) to not eat/drink as much. I realized as I healed, I was able to eat more and drink alittle more. Keep taking the meds, let yourself heal. Healing is what is important  now.

If what you're referring to is restriction, she may, or may not notice it. At least at an appropriate level. Many bandsters NEVER reach restriction. It's either too loose or too tight. NO happy medium. Hopefully you'll be one of the LUCKY ones!

You will feel the boating and a little more pain for longer due to the hernia repair. I felt bloated for a month. Keep drinking, all the time. I am a lucky one. I still don't get hungry for hours and really make myself eat. I feel full really quick and it lasts for nearly 7 hours. I have had one fill.

Keep plugging along and drink as much as you can!
