Got it?

I totally understand what you're saying, Kath.  I've dealt with a lifetime of depression and I know it's tied into my dysfunctional relationship with food.  When I started researching WLS, I was concerned that there was very little mention of the psychological aspects of it.  When I spoke to the surgeons they were like, "yeah, that can be a problem....so anyway, back to talking about the surgery."  I love my surgeon, he's competent, successful, and a very nice guy, but he doesn't "get it," if you know what I mean.   (He lost 80lbs after his wife "made" him give up soda...he thinks that's the answer to everyone's food addiction.  I don't even drink soda, never have.)   I realized I had to take matters into my own hands.

I attend a bariatric surgery support group once a week, which is helpful, but doesn't really address my demons.  I'm currently looking for a shrink/therapist who can help me deal with my food issues as an addiction.  OA and the like don't really work for me because I'm not comfortable with the whole "surrendering to a higher power" thing.  I strongly feel that I am the one in control of my future, no one else.  I used to be a smoker, and after 3 or 4 attempts I finally quit successfully, so I know what addiction feels like.  I know I can't quit eating (!!!), but I can quit things that are simply unhealthy and nutritionally useless.

Anyway, I've rambled long enough -- didn't mean to hijack the thread...

I am a year out as of June 23.  I have had restriction from day 1.  I have a large band (14cc) and I have 9.6cc in my band. I believe I've had 6 fills maybe in addition to the initial 2cc that they prepped the band with.  I got .4cc last week, all the water came back up, they took it all out. I don't think I will be getting anymore fills going forward.

I have had some restriction since day 1. As I lost a few times it seemed to lessen. Over the last year i have had 4 fills and 3 small unfills. The unfills followed fills 3, 4, and several months after the 4th fill. My last fill was in Jan or Feb. I think I may need a fill now but am worried about it getting too tight again.

I'm over 6 years out. I had restriction with my very first fill, and though the amount in my band varies from time to time, I still have it.

Banded 03/22/06  276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)

Dev how does yours vary? I'm assuming that you don't mean just tighter in the morning and adequate during the rest of the day? Are you sometimes able to eat dense proteins and then not able to eat mushies? Or does it vary in that it's just too loose at times?
