Megan, in doing research, you REALLY need to take into account the less than "positive" aspects. Seriously, it's IMPORTANT.

In saying you quit with this post, you are saying that you had your mind made up before saying anything on here. You were not doing research, as you say, you wanted a CONGRATULATIONS for your choice.

I do wish you the best of luck with your decision. We did not come on here to discourage you, only to offer help. All you would have to do is say, thank you, however, this is the choice for me and we will respect YOUR choice. Because, in the end, we each have to make our own choice. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that has success with the band.

Megan, if you quit you won't help yourself.

Ignore negative if you want but discuss any/all isues/concerns with your doctor.
Keep open mind that things do/can happen.
It doesn't make them right. You won't know what happens if you get a band or sleeve unless your a mind reader.

Sounds like these people had bad things and are really trying to (warn) you.
Ok, they warned you. Now go ask your doctor about their stories and make your best decision.

Ok I'm not really understanding. No one has called you a name, and all the responses that you have received appear to be respectful. What is it that you are having an issue with???

Megan, just in case yore still reading your thread, I want to assure you that the "negative nellies" are giving you information you need to make an informed decision. I was like you, not wanting to hear the stories of complications or failure to lose...but here I am, most likely going to NEED a revision or band removal to preserve the health of my esophagus. You really should have an open mind and consider all risks and benefits, then make your choice. Good luck.
