Your so right!  I thought something was wrong for over 2 years but
kept on keeping on.  When they went into get it out yep.  My body
had been trying to eliminate it.

Today I am 2 years post VSG (I was 308 and today Im 230)....I managed to gain 30 pounds back and it has been hell trying to loose it and I have about 20 more to go after the 30 (50 in total to go). I had the surgery with no problems, in fact I could never really tell I had anything done (except for fact that I could only eat a small amount). In my opinion the VSG is only for someone that has to loose 50-70 pounds and knowing this now, I wish I would have went ahead and gotten the Roux-En-Y bypass. The VSG is great, but like someone said in a blog, its 20% VSG and 80% you and if you love food and always hungry like me, the bypass seems to be the most "restricting surgery". I still can only eat half of what I used to, but Im not loosing like I want and I now feel like I did (strugging to loose weight) before my surgery. With the VSG, you can eat anything you want, just in small quantities and if you dont change you way/thoughts about eating, your still going to be the same (like me). I feel I can maintain this 70 pound loss good (with watching the kind of foods I eat), but to lose 50 more pounds, Im going to have to get back to the basics of when I first had surgery and that is going to take lots of work. Just do research and go to youtube and search VSG - there are lots of people who have had both. Good luck and keep us posted.....:)

I believe with any WLS, the surgery is only 10-20% the tool and all the rest is on you!  If you don't get to the underlying issues, you will/can fail with all of them.
