One Monday evening I had a CT SCAN and it showed my band was in perfect position.
Tuesday I had a endoscopy which showed that my band was in perfect position.
Wednesday my surgeon told me that " My band slipped " and he would be removing it that day.
All those tests and many more that were done on previous ER visits showed a perfectly placed band.
My band had eroded and every test showed a " Perfectly placed band "

How does this happen when with swallow they can perfectly see the band, stomach, placement etc?t
Quality of life with the band. *sigh* My life wasn't even worth living when I had the band. The pain was nonstop, chronic, horrible and soul crushing. The inability to eat solid foods (and when I stupidly tried, I would puke for hours and hours and then have left shoulder pain even worse than before) was only the tip of the iceberg.
You're not alone in this situation. Research all your options before deciding on which way to proceed. I had my band removed and did not revise to another WLS. I have regained all the weight I lost (through starvation with the band) but I'm happier NOW than I was while banded. At least I can breathe again... and I don't throw up, I can eat healthful foods, and life is just better all around. I'd rather be fat than go through that experience again. However, there are options: VSG being one of them.
Best of luck to you with whatever direction you go. I hope you feel better soon.
