Feeling weird after my fill

I haven't been here for quite awhile.  Maybe if I stayed and kept posting I would have done better over the past year.  But anyway, I'm back.

I haven't had a fill in over a year and I gained back some weight.  I really had no restriction.  I finally broke down and went back to my surgeon last Thursday.  I say the PA.  She checked the fluid in my band and then did a fill.  I'm following the instructions - fluids the first day, puree the second day, thicker things the third and then solid food.

Now here's the problem: since Thursday I've been exhausted.  All I want to do is sleep and I've been sleeping a lot.  Has anyone had this happen?  The upside, if I'm sleeping I"m not hungry LOL.  I'm hoping this will stop as I add back the solid food, but part of me is almost afraid to have solids.

If you're doing liquids and haven't been following a strict diet for a while, my guess is #1 cause is an insulin decrease.  Fasting will make you bottom out and it will take your body just a few days to adjust.  Stay commited to your cause and focused on your goal.  You got this!

Thanks!  I'm definitely committed to reaching my goal.  I did not like the way I felt when some of the weight crept back on.  Just remembering that crappy feeling will be enough to keep me going.  I didn't think of the insulin/blood sugar effect of going to liquids after pretty much doing what I wanted.  I think you are right that my body is adjusting.  At least the weight is coming off again.

Sleeping also means you may not be taking in enough fluids.  Do not dehydrate yourself.  Drink your fluids and move, you need to move. Not lie in the bed.  Dehydration can cause you to become too tight as well as lethargic.  Drink your fluids and you should start feeling some better.

 Hi Theresa,

I didn't realize that being dehydrated could make you feel tired.  I'm guessing that I am slightly dehydrated because my lips are getting chapped and that never happens.

I did get my exercise in last night.  I did laps in the pool.  It felt pretty good, but I was exhausted afterwards.

Make sure you're getting in your protein and on top of your vitamins and supplements. Try to get 8 hrs of sleep. Good luck and welcome back.

Thanks minnie_cat!

I'm trying on the sleep.  Right now I'm getting a lot, just not at night lol.  I keep falling asleep mid-afternoon.  It's awful.  I think I'm getting all the protein in.  It should get easier now that I'm back on solids.
