is it okay to lay down in a bathtub (as long as water doesnt cover the incisions)?

i find i want to lay down and soak my shoulders and relax.
the lady in the dr office said no bath not for long time

No, it is not.

You may have a great deal of difficulty getting out of the tub without getting hurt until you have healed somewhat.

A heating pad on your shoulders would be a better idea, I know lots of us used one for several days after surgery for that achy shoulder.

 I know that it's not nearly as fun as a bath, but how about just standing in the shower with the water running on your shoulders and back?

 Yes...a nice shower as long as your incisions are healed or covered by waterproof band aids. I use a shower chair because of my unstable artificial knee.    I sit back and lean against the shower stall with a shower massage.    You can find them at medical supply stores in different sizes.

What I would LOVE to have someday is one of those walk-in tubs!!

Still with my lapband with no plans for revision. Band working well since

last small unfill.

Those walk-in tubs are really expensive.  Like $4,000 - $6,500, compared to $200 - $500 for most regular baths.  I just went through major renovations.  Involunarily.
