Esophogram and unfill

After months of the mystery pain (click on latests posts for details) I went in for an Esophogram this morning.  The barium just sat in my esophagus, trickling through my stoma.  The pouch is "mildly dilated".  They gave me a pill to swallow that should have passed through my stoma and it just sat there.  I had a total unfill (3.5cc) and go back July 17 to take another look.  I lost most of my weight without a fill, so just going to continue doing what I've been doing and hope my issues resolve.

 Good Luck to you.

When I had my band it was really tough to lose without any kind of restriction.

Hope that when you go back in July everything is better for you.

There are a couple of people on here who actually are losing without fills.  I only had 3.5cc in my 11cc band, so not a lot.  I lost most of my weight before my first fill, so not too worried.  I also have a different way of eating and my perspective on food has changed drastically.  I have regained my mobility and have a lot of appreciation for the improved quality of life losing 71 lb has allowed.  My PA was impressed that after 10 + months of having issues, I had actually lost a couple of pounds.

I hope things work out. You have a great attitude! I only have 3cc in my band too and am doing fine. I hope everything works out for you.

Oh no. That is discouraging. I am sorry. Do they expect the unfill to help? I hope things resolve themselves and you feel better soon!

They are hopeful that the unfill will help.  I'm able to eat, still getting that feeling of food sitting there...but it is much better.  Thanks!!
