Sleep Apnea , Say what?
Sleep apnea is hard to diagnose without a sleep study but there are signs that could indicate you have it. When I was 80 lbs heavier, I had a horrible snoring problem. My husband would wake me several times a night to turn over...but after a while, that didn't help and I had to sleep in a recliner or by myself on the couch!
Also, no matter how many hours I slept, I would usually wake up tired. We tried nose strips and mouth devices to no avail so I finally got a sleep study done. Turns out I was experiencing over 100 "events" per hour and never getting any deep REM sleep.
The good news is that i no longer have sleep apnea after losing the first 50 lbs.
Hope this helps :)

Signs could be are you cranky or moody during the day, do you take naps, do you wake up in the morning with a headache, do you not remember dreaming, do you wake up gasping for air, do you find yourself yawning during to the day even though you went to bed early.

Believe it or not, I just got diagnosed with hypopnea after losing over 150 lbs! I was tired and extremely sleepy all the time. Woke up with morning headaches. I did not snore loudly or stop breathing during the night. I would jerk awake sometimes at night, and was told that sometimes I would have tiny little gasps in my sleep. Hypopnea is where my oxygen level falls more than normal when I try to go into rem sleep, and it would usually wake me up thus preventing me from getting restful sleep. My case is supposedly mild with a level of 13. They say many are up to and over 100. But they suggest a cpap over 6. I hated the night I had to sleep with one in the sleep study. Felt like I was smothering . But they tell me I will feel much better after I start to use it regularly. I don't even have the machine yet but it's coming. So they say being overweight is a big factor, but when I weighed 150+ more than I do now I did not have any problems with it....so who knows?
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea when I weighed 135 pounds. It's not always tied to weight. But get that CPAP- here's the thing...you don't know how BAD you feel until you feel GOOD when you wake up. I got used to it and I take that thing everywhere. Good sleep makes a world of difference in your whole life!

Amen to that Lori F.
I complained for years from 17-36 that I was always tired...always was just told I was stressed/depressed.
Not until I started the process for Lap Band did anyone ever mention a sleep study...Sure enough I've got Severe Sleep Apnea. Boy, would my life have been different if I had known back then....
