Here goes nothing! HELP!

I received my band in April 2011.  After five months of working my band and losing in total from the beginning of the experience to the end of five months post op, I lost 57 pounds.  I was dedicated and doing awesome!  Then my husband and I had a little bit of a miracle surprise.  It turns out after losing a chunk of weight, a woman becomes extra fertile, which wasn't an issue for me to begin with.  Even with preventing, in order to not get pregnant in the first year, I became pregnant.  Due to morning sickness I had to have all my fluid taken out and in return let bad habits slip back in.  I was repulsed by ALL liquids except Diet Pepsi.  It is the only thing that sounded  decent.  My doctor said drink it if that is all you can get down.  So now that beloved Diet Pepsi that I gave up Pre-op is now back in my life lingering.  I also began eating my delicious carbs again and got away from my protein/veggies/fruits focus that helped me lose my weight.

I delivered my beautiful daughter Payton on May 18th.  After three weeks, I am still maintaining these disguting new habits  I let slip back in.  I gained 47 pounds during my pregnancy.  After delivering, I still have 19 pounds to go to reach my pre-pregnancy weight.  I also need to lose an additional 40 pounds on top of that.  My question for you fellow lap banders is, what do you suggest I do to get my focus back?  I thought about going on liquids for a week to refocus and get my healthy life style back in check. What is crazy and I never thought I would say this, is that I actually craved my protein shakes the entire pregnancy, so I do not think going on two shakes a day in addition to a sensible dinner would be hard.  I just do not know where to start though.  What do you suggest?  What worked for you to regain focus?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

First, get a fill.

Second, get to the NUT and go back to basics with your nutritional intake.

Third, get to support groups meetings.

Fourth, get to the gym.

Fifth, enjoy your family and give yourself a break.

I agree. Start over and see if the protein drinks can get you off the carbs. Don't set too big of goal. Focus on eating the proteins and exercising. It may help you to log your food to help hold yourself accountable.

Congratulations on your new little girl!

Don't forget, we are here for you.

I have to keep my band really loose, but I would make an appointment with your doc and see if you need a fill.

Then I would start over.  All protein shakes for a few days to totally decarb

Then a few days of just protein mushies.

Then the band rules:  dense proteins, no drinking before/during/after eating and eat proteins first.

I recomitted by doing low carb and I've lost 25 pounds.  If I, a total food and carb-o-holic, can do it anyone can do it.
I've been on prednisone and chemo for over 7.5 years.  Gained over 160 pounds due to pred. Highest wt. 410. Surgery wt. 365. Current wt. 299
