Oh my! I never knew! Thank you for telling me, but I have to say, I am just a regular "Squirrel" on my journey to good health. I do believe we are all Sisters - we are connected by that common thread of the desire to be healthy and happy so that we can live our lives as "normal" people. I have kept my band very loose. I never wanted to slime or have it slip from a vomiting episode. I do believe we work very hard when we keep our bands looser. It's not easy. I'm so proud of you for keeping on... I know you struggle with your stupid prednisone! It sucks! I've been on it and know! Don't give up! I will be your cheerleader anytime!
12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
Hi Dee, and I applaud your guts to do it. In my process of losing weight, I had to let go that person (ME) who was fat. It was like grieving for me. When I switched my closet this month, I touched my dearly biggest pair of jean(size 18) and my old favorite t-shirt that I kept for old sake memory, but, this time, I did not cry.
Last year, I may say that I cried the loss of that person that I used to be. Oh well it is part of my past. Now, I told René to keep one LARGE pair of jeans (size 42) and one large working shirt to be able to remember the person that he used to be. I don`t know if it is normal to go to that process (not much people talks about it), but I would like to read how to cope in losing weight. I don`t want to see a therapist about it but I thought that this blog could have that topic.
Anyway, bravo to you to be able to talk about it. A lot of people or colleagues still do not know that I have a lapband.
I still read all plastic surgery stories (Dr Sauceda) and even René is asking : Is anything new on it? He likes to hear about the Sauceda`s Patients.
We wish we could have gone to Las Vegas, but next year if it is at the end of June or during July, we would gladly go and meet Dr S`s patients.
BTW, René is doing fantastic with his VSG. He lost 18-20 pound in 2 weeks. He stopped ALL his medication for diabetic. His sugar is back to 6-8. Before surgery it was at 14-17.
Glad to read you again and again dear PS sister
