I know this may sound paranoid, but sometimes I wonder if they actually can see something, but it may not meet any criteria to classify it as abnormal KWIM ?

There are way too many surprises that happen to bandsters during their 2nd or 3rd surgery! Band removals that take longer b/c of excess scar tissue/adheasion/erosion/revisons that are unable to be performed........the list goes on and on.
I just see too many ppl that are having problems and the Dr. tells them all is well. One of the ladies on the FB group said she told her Dr. for 2 yrs. He kept saying she was fine. Well he now admits there is a problem and the band needs to be removed. So bandsters please......LISTEN TO YOUR BODIES! You know how you feel! Be persistant! Change Drs. if necessary. You are your own best advocate!
I agree! It is scary to know that the tests will not show the true picture! I think it is so important to not ignore the symptoms and to be very aggressive with our doctors! We have to be our own advocate!
12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
My brother who is 5 years out RNY had problems with this. They thought he was having angina problems, the cardiolgist put him through numerous tests. He then was having test for esophageal motility. He had done some of the testing and it was on an empty stomach but he had to sallow the barrium. He thought they were finished with the testing and he ate some of those peanut butter crackers out of the vending machine. The doctor agreed to finish his testing even though he had eaten because he lives 100 miles away.
Long story short the crackers showed the doctor that even though the barrium was going down solid food was not.
He wasn't too tight because he doesn"t have a band. He had to have a dialation and take some meds. Feels 100% better.
It can happen with either surgery.

I'd be interested in knowing how many other surgery types are having problems with esophageal issues. Do you happen to know some who would want to participate in this discussion ?
