You're not " Stuck " your band is damaging your esophagus
Today, I was Dx with achalasia, a rare disorder (2000 Dx year in US), but not so rare amongst our banded population :(. I had a barium swallow, my distal esophagus swelled up and the LES was clamped up tight. They gave me the very heavy barium, it sat there, the walls of the esophagus were undulating, my heart was racing (this does irritate the heart). They gave water and the sphincter opened up. I'm having another test to confirm...no sleeve for me, more than likely.

It's better to understand that your not a candidate for the sleeve beforehand, then to find out afterwards. Sorry about the bad news regarding the achalasia Steph. I just found out my carpal tunnel has gotten even worse and both hands need surgery. I don't want to keep having surgeries !
