3 years banded -- grateful every day

So, 3 years ago this week, I got my Realize Band.
I was in 'good health' for someone who was 130 pounds overweight. I had no measurable co-morbidities, had mobility (although it was painful to carry the weight, I was able to do it).
I had an outpatient procedure --- in, banded, hernia repaired and home within about 5 hours -- nothing stronger than Extra Strength Tylenol for discomfort.
I started to lose weight before my band, and I lost slowly and steadily for 18 months. I did not have any 'plateaus' --- some weeks I had no loss, but that never lasted more than about 10 days. I did not go for weeks and weeks without losing.
I don't know why my journey has been easier than some --- but I DO know that I am grateful every day that I was able to pay for my surgery and that I had an excellent surgeon and that I have tremendous support opportunities.
My life is immeasurably better today than it was 3 years ago. I am more successful in my career and I KNOW that some of that is related to my appearance and my confidence. I am more active, I am more FUN! I have a happier marriage because I participate in our life together more.
I am grateful for this community -- even when we don't all agree -- we usually are able to disagree agreeably.
I am grateful for the posts --- especially those words of warning from bandsters who have experienced problems -- they serve as a cautionary tale.
I pray that my band and I are together (painlessly) for many years to come.
I pray that the plan of eating I have developed with WW and my OA group helps me maintain my weight loss -- band or no band.
Thank you all for your participation here and for giving me a place to learn and share.
