Bette I jus****ched this show...and you are the best looking woman with "a very short haircut" over 50 I've seen, and you spoke so eloquently and professional....I am wishing you much success in your job search and hope you are able to find something as an editor very soon....
By the way....when I was in between contracts and I relocated, what I've seen personally employers RARELY reply back to resumes that you submit on line....I never got a response back to jobs that I applied for on line...and I have over 13 years experience in the IT field.....however, I am not sure how hard it is in journalism....
BUT....I get swamped from phone calls from recruiters and head hunters when I post my resume and credentials on Job boards such as Monster, Dice, Career Builder, etc....I get so many calls from recruiters that I don't have to no longer look for a job...they look for me....that is how I've gotten my last new contracts...and I cheery picked the jobs that I wanted....so you may want to post your resume and let the recruiters find you....
