Had BOB yesterday

 With Dr. Pedro Kuri in TJ.  Hospital and staff were very nice and professional.  Some pain, but that can be expected.

Out of curiousity...

If you had Dr. Khalili in Los Angeles do the RNY, why did you have Dr. Kuri do the Band?

Band over bybass is not the prescribed use of Lap Band or Realize, although it did get some media attention, courtesy of Carnie Wilson.  Hope it works as you desire.

 Because in 10 years I've gained back 70 lbs and since my current insurance does not cover any sort of weight loss surgery, I self payed in Mexico.

I know a few people who have had success with the BOB.  

 Ignore her and her "doubt" (see my post below or above).  Congrats to you!  I had my BOB last June, I will be a year out on the 23rd and I am back at my RNY weight and still losing.  Let me know if you need anything.

Heather, I did not express doubt.  I asked her about why she went this route.  Did it occur to you that I am genuinely curious?

Would you appreciate it if I told people to ignore you for whatever reason?

Although this may not have been your intention, but, way to deflate her ballon just as she is coming home from the hospital.  

While the Band over Bypass (BOB) might not be the "prescribed" use of the band, there are hundreds of things out there that were intended for one thing and worked for others. It's called science and that is why I am thrilled there are doctors out there who are constantly doing trials, etc and not just resting on complaceny. I  

And btw, the BOB, while a somewhat new procedure, is FULLY approved by 99% of health insurances where the DS is not.  Its popularity has nothing to do with that God-awful, Carnie Wilson, but rather a solution to the often-failed RNY.

 If I did, my apologies.  This board has become suck a place or naysayers and negativity that I think I have my guard up!  Plus, please, never mention Carnie Wilson to me.  UGH, that horrible media ***** cow!

Again, I am sorry!  But, just bc it wasn't the intended use doesn't mean it wouldn't work?  I've lost all my re-gain and I know dozens, maybe 50 others.
