Would you please share why you are revising.I was banded 11/08 and seriously considering the sleeve now.  My best friend is doing the same thing.  she was banded 2/09.  i have had success but life has not been good for the last 2 years-lots of stucks and pouch dialations.  i need to lose at least 75 more lbs but at this point im slowly gaining it back--in the last year i have gained back 40-  i cant really eat what i am supposed to eat, so i eat what i can-sliders, garbage!!  not to mention i was on 5 rounds of steroids and cant workout because of a serious ankle injury and lack of motivation.

thanks for ANY help you can give!!

I'm sorry you are having issues.
I started having problems about 8 months ago where the band would suddenly get tight without me changing anything, fill level, etc. There was never constant restriction, one day I could eat, then next I couldn't. They did multiple tests, xray, cat scan, endoscopy, barium swallow, etc the positioning of the band looked good, pouch size, and there wasn't any type of erosion, etc. They have no idea what the issue is and why I would get the random tightness. In November, I went in for a complete unfill and stayed unfilled until the mid-December. In December, they slowly started filling me back up, I only had 1 cc in my band and continued to have the random episodes of tightness. In early March, my new surgeon decided it would be best to unfill the band completely and have it removed. He recommended revision and I decided that would be the best thing for me to do.

Ashley,

Remember it's not the operation that defines you, but YOU yourself. So with that said, please know I am here if you need. While we may have different operations, sometimes the "cause and effects" are similar.

Wishing you nothing but BIG SUCCESS!!!
Good Luck on your Journey !!

I have the same story. I had my band out in Feb., however Medicare does not pay for sleeve. Waiting on their final decision end of June, doesn't look good for all of us that are waiting. If not will have to go to RNY.

Good luck :)

I hope you sail right through it all and do wonderful things with that sleeve.  Best wishes.
