Breakfast Ideas?!?!
Question: I am 3 1/2 months post op and I need some different ideas for breakfast! I am hoping for ideas that are quick, easy and HIGH in protein! I only eat the same 2 things for breakfast and have done so since I had my Lap-Band surgery! I either have greek yogurt with high protein granola OR weight conrol oatmeal with skim milk. The problem that I am running into with these 2 options is that they are really high in carbs and maybe not as much protein as I would like. I usually take my breakfast to work and eat first thing when I get here, so I need ideas that are "easy to travel"! Thank you in advance for your help......
This is what I do to!
I usually make a simple one and then add cheese or whatever I want.
I brown sausage (out of the casing and I use whatever brand is on sale), put an ounce in the bottom of each cup of a muffin tin, add a tablespoon of onion and diced peppers, add one whole egg to each tin and lightly scramble. Bake for 15 mins at 400.
Then I toss a piece of cheese on top when I heat them, add a little plain greek yogurt and salsa. very high protien for very few cals!

Add protein to your oatmeal. Also I do protein bars or protein drinks for breakfast at times. Or nuts. As far as it being too many carbs, I don't reall see that is the case. I know my opinion is not popular, but prior to the low carb craze about 10 years ago ppl used to go on diets all the time and lost weight. It's about moderation, not about eliminating one specific thing.
Good luck!
I take one egg, diced ham and shredded cheese and microwave it 20 seconds in a glass bowl take it out and stir it and back in for another 20 seconds.nice little omelet!
Also I make mini quiche that you can refrigerate or freeze and re microwave. They are bite size. I put a little melted butter with hash browns in each cup and bake for 15 minutes. Then add what ever meat, veggie to the cup and pour scrambled eggs over the top and bake for 15-20 minutes. They are great! My calculations showed 130 calories for 3 mini muffin quiche.

Sounds awesome doesn’t it?! I love quiche, and I love cheese, like spinach. So the High Protein Spinach Gorgonzola Quiche Cups are a win-win with me!
