Are you latose intolerant?

I swear, no one pays me, I just like to tell people when i find cool new things.

My husband has been lactose intolerant for probably the last 10 years. He always had some issues, but once he figured it out and cut out dairy, it actually got worse; even small amounts ingested by accident would set him off. He learned to rely on the Lactaid chewable pills, and they helped a lot, but then you always have to be sure to take them with you whenever you might eat out.

One of my coworkers mentioned that her husband was using something different and it worked great for him, so I got mine to try it. He was skeptical, but turned out to be very surprised by how well it's worked. It's a probiotic supplement: Digestive Advantage Lactose Defense Formula. You take it daily instead of just taking ti when you have dairy. Now he only uses the lactaid pills if he's going to eat a lot of dairy at one time - like having cheese and ice cream in the same meal. The best part he is no longer having to quiz waiters about the wheat and dairy in dishes (now he only has to ask about the wheat).

We've taken to ordering it from Amazon since out grocery store doesn't reliably stock it: http://www.amazon.com/Digestive-Advantage-Lactose-Capsules-3 2-Count/dp/B001G7QGCM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338297828&sr=8 -1

My doctor is of the opinion that everyone is lactose intolerant to some degree.

I did not think I was.  I did try using some alternative products and I have felt much better.

He may be right.

Dev, thanks for the heads up about the Amazon site.

Thanks Dev... I have been lactose intolerant for as long as I can remember.  Not allergic to milk products, just intolerant to them...
I will have to try this :)

That's my husband's issue, it's not an allergy, he just can't digest it. Apparently this pills contain good bugs that help digest the lactase for you. He did find you have to be sure to take it daily for best results. he ran out for a couple of days and it took several days before they were working at full strength again once he re-started them.
