I had repositioning and a hiatal hernia repair at the same time a few years back. There was a lot more swelling in the area following that surgery, so I had to have steroids for a day or so to bring it down so that liquids could go through again. Just be aware that this can happen. I also noticed discomfort when taking a deep breath for about a month afterwards, presumably due to the HH repair, but it did get better and go away.

Thanks for the heads up! How long until you went back to work? I am not really sure what to expect for recovery this time. With the band I didn't take pain medsand was up and about from the start. The port repair was pretty painful and I was off work longer than planned.

Did you do well after the repair? I have had su*****onsistent restriction and am hoping this will help. What about your reflux? Did it go away? If I never have to take another Pepcid I will be so happy!! Tired of the heartburn and reflux.

I think I took a full week off, but mainly because I had to be off 5 consecutive days in order to use sick leave. I think having the whole week was helpful. I didn't havea lot fo nasuea the way I did with the initial surgery, but a little more pain I think.
I did well after the repair, no more slip issues since then and no heartburn (unless I'm too tight).

I had hiatal hernia repair at the same time I had my band placed in January. I took a week off. I did not feel hungry for 6 weeks. I think it was the swelling! I also felt more pain from the hernia repair then the band placement. Felt more pressure between your breasts and where your bra will hit the incision. If you are large breasted, go without a bra for several days so that you don't irritate the incision. I did that and it healed the quickest of the 4 incisions.

You will do fine! Stay on the liquids and soft food as long as they tell you to make sure that is healed well.

Best wishes!
 Sue

It always cracks me up how subjective taste is. I LOATHED Muscle Milk and actually spit it on the ground.

A lot of people seem to like it. I managed to drink 3 of the 4 I bought, but by the 4th one I couldn't take it anymore!

I am with you, can't stand the stuff. The only one I will tolerate is the banana one, and that is only if I am stuck and it's the only kind I can get my hands on.
