Lap Band Problems

I haven't been on OH for quit some time. I have been dealing with some band issues. I wanted to share my story.

I had my surgery March 1, 2011 and I was doing pretty good, averaging 1.5 lbs a week in weight loss. I LOVED my band, but in December it slipped. I couldn't keep anything done, including water. My doctor emptied it and I went back to normal right away. By normal I mean presurgery. This of course caused weight gain. The plan was to have it empty for 6-8 weeks to let the slip correct itself. In February I went for a fill and it was discovered my port had flipped. I was given 2cc after I was sent to radiology so they could see the port, this was extremely painful. I was no where near restriction. But, because they weren't sure my slip was completely fixed, my doctor wanted to hold off on surgery to fix my port. I went back in April to have a band check and a possible fill. The band seemed fine, but once again I had to go to radiology to get a fill.

Tomorrow I go in to have my port flipped. I am hopeful that after tomorrow I will be back to normal and I can move forward.

I am not bashing the band, it has worked for me, and I hope that after tomorrow it will once again work. This was just to let y'all know what can happen.

 I'm so sorry you're going through this.  There are just so many people that come in here having problems and it breaks my heart.

 I had a port leak repaired and it went very smoothly. I hope the repair goes smoothly for you as well and you continue on your losing journey!
