Weird stomach pain...

I get his strange pain in my stomach...it's almost like a cramp.
It kinda builds in intensity.
The only thing that helps is to drink something.
If I don't drink something when I feel it coming on the pain will get worse and worse.
As soon as I drink something and feel the liquid reach my stomach it releases almost immendiately.
Anyone else have this experience???

Have you been checked for esophageal spasms?

No I have not..but after a quick google search I don't believe my symptoms match up with that problem.  Thanx :)

I would think that if this continues, you'd want to get checked thoroughly. I get weird cramps in my stomach from gastritis that developed while I had my band. Also, the haital hernia that occurred while banded causes my guts to do really wonky stuff!

I hope you can get it resolved soon, whatever it is!

I don't know what it could be, but since there are so many complications that generally occur with the band please get it checked out!!!

I have been having something like this too...for about 18 months. It is a very strange sensation that starts below my stomach but above my belly button, radiates up my back and into my neck, back of my throat and roof of my mouth. Often I am asleep on my tummy when it happens, but it has been occurring while awake too, recently.
I have been having palpitations (often wakes me from sleep and lasts for hours) and irregular heart rythym too and am under the care of a cardiologist and gastroenterologist as well as my PCP. I have had an abdominal ultrasound, barium swallow (band is fine) and am scheduled for stress EKG on the 24th. I suspect vagus nerve irritation as the culprit, but the cardiologist is not convinced yet.
If it is the vagus nerve causing the problems, I have a big decison to make if the band is causing the irritation...disappointing because I have started to lose again (after a year of crazyness) and I feel great other than the irritating palpitations...
All my blood tests came back normal. The only unresolved comorbidity I have is HBP which is doing better with another med added to my regemine. I am suspicious the vagus is causing the HBP too...
I haven't been on here for a while, been too busy settling my FIL's estate (he passed in November) and getting the house ready to renovate and rent. All in all, I made the right choice of surgery for my situation based upon the available information (here and other sites) but it looks like the bands are involved in many more complications as time passes.
I will repost when I get the results of my stress test...
By all means see your doctor and figure out what is causing your discomfort.
Edited to add: It gets better when I move around and drink some water. My PCP suspects it is gastric (reflux, which I had for years prior to getting banded).
