Its not a overnight fix but if you work your band and stay away from band no nos like drinking with meals and bread items and eat small portions you really can be a success. Give the band time to prove itself i am sure it will be worth it i just compare my before and after pics and i know it was worth it for me.  Besides not having to be on alot of medicines i was before the band  good luck

NOT true! If you have a drill with no bits..........it doesn't matter how much you try to read the instruction manuel and use it. It's useless! Many of us have failed bands. If we didn't get a "tool" then it's just like trying to lose weight before we got the CRAP-BAND!

What if you didn't? Do you plan to have a revision right away? You have a band now, so use it, work with it, and see how it works for you. That's all ANY of us can do with any WLS we choose. It works great for some, it doesn't work at all for others, and most seem to fall somewhere in between. The only way you're going to know how it does for YOU is to see what happens next.

Banded 03/22/06  276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)

I know I did. But I also know the band isn’t for everyone. You need to do a lot of research, not only on the which operation to choose, but SELF research. You need to decided what type of eater are you, and WHY you eat. While I don’t expect you to cure yourself, knowing this can help you decided what operation is best for you. (example, if you’re a high volume eater the band may be the way to go; if you love sweets especially ice cream the bypass may be best).

Good luck, and know no matter which operation you decide to go for, I will be here if you need!!

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom C. is right on. . .this is something that ONLY YOU can determine based on how you eat,. . blah blah. HELL, we're all overeaters or we wouldn't be on this site right!
I have never regretted getting my band and I've only lost 45lbs in 6 years-LOL. BUT, have not put forth much effort either and KNOW that if I had continued w/o this "tool" I'd have never lost that weight. But even  more importantly to me, I'd be much larger. I've maintained that 45 for years and years. . that to me is proof that this has helped. I've had a few issues, but all in all its been a great tool.
keep researching, praying or whatever you do and know that being overweight is not an easy fix.
peace and best of luck!
