How often do you have problems with this, I do if I eat too late at nigh,t does this mean I am going to get cancer later down the road?
I will have to be more careful? What do you think?

We see more cancer in people with chronic reflux, but don't know if it another sx  (i.e. it comes along with the reflux) or the cause (refluxed acid over the years burn the membranes and cause cancer).

We just don't know right now.
(I know, I know....we all hate the grey areas of medicine!)

Nevertheless, treat it aggressively per your doctor
(ask if you are a candidate for a PPI?)
Also get scoped now and then to monitor for precancer cells (follow your PCP/GI doctor's advise).

it could mean your band is too tight and you need a small unfill, call your doctor asap, you should not be having reflux and it needs to be treated before it damages your esophagus, not to mntion if you aspirate fluid into your lungs you could get pneumonia. please make the call.

I never had acid reflux until after I got the band and started fills.  I now know not to eat after 7pm or eat very light.  No liquids hours before bedtime except a sip or two.  I used prilosec to keep the acid down and have kept this in check.

I usually go to bed after 11pm so the above routine helps me prevent waking up in the middle of the night with reflux.

I just had an unfill of 1.0cc for this and it really helped.  I've been thinking for the last month, it would get better and have been feeling worse, eating sliders (my 4 frenemy food groups...chips, chocolate, ice cream, and cookies...bad) and have gained some weight.  Finally yesterday I realized...duh! this is not my fault...I am too damn tight.  Got in first thing this am.  RELIEF!

Had 4 oz salmon for lunch...without an issue.  I'm also on prilosec now for a month

get to your surgeon!

I had a little unfil (.6cc) and it also made a big difference...

Remember when you've PB'd or have alot of acid it doesn't hurt to do liquids for a few days to let your stomach calm down. You may need a small unfill too. Just because you haven't had a recent fill doesn't mean it can't be too tight. Mine tightened for no reason 2 years after my last fill until I finally had to have it totally emptied and have been empty for over a year.

Either eat earlier or maybe an unfill.
