It's been 6 weeks since my lap band surgery and I got my first fill..
Congrats, you have a great positive attitude, keep it up! One tip I can offer is to never let yourself get too hungry otherwise you might find yourself eating too fast and not chewing completely. That's where I get into trouble and wind up barfing. Not pleasant.
You sound so motivated and positive I'm so happy for you. Best of luck on your weight loss journey!

Congratulations!! I'm glad it didn't hurt...that was one of my worries as well. I'm 4 weeks post surgery and I opted out of my first fill today. The doctor said I'm doing good without a fill, and he suggested that I wait. He said I won't need one until I notice I'm eating between meals or eating more. He has patients who have reached their goal weight and has NEVER received fills. Isn't that odd? I swear I'm eating less than 1/2 of what I ate before surgery. I'm down 34 pounds.... getting 80 grams of protein a day, and feeling better than ever (and my pants aren't tight anymore, lol) I never knew that the lap band could act as an appetite suppressant on its own. But it seems to be that way with me!

Congrats on your progress! Keep it up. I pretended I wasn't worried about that first fill but I was. It was fine. Just as people said.
One thing you might ask yourself before you eat something not in your meal plan is "Will this further my progress or head me back toward old habits"? I had to do that almost daily for a while and am having to do this right now. It sure puts things into perspective.
Good luck to you, Sue
