Plateus are a pretty normal part of weight loss, how long has it been since you lost? Have you looked at what your BMR is for your new weight and checked to see if you need to adjust your intake? Also, don't rely to heavily on cardio, make sure to do some strength training in there too, weight loss automatically causes your metabolism to slow; the only way to rev it up again is to add lean muscle mass and cardio doesn't do that for you.

I know it is very discouraging but your body is adjusting again, hang on the weight will start to come off soon I am sure!

I don't know how long you have been at a stand still, but I seemed to have one for a while and I was only getting in around 900-1,000 calories at that time. When I finally decided to change things up a bit, I started eating AT LEAST 1,200 calories a day and for some reason that was the difference that I needed! Good luck to you! And remember to "trick" your body with calories! If you are eating the same amount every day.... it will evenutally stop working for you! I also have 1 day a week where I peak my calories... kinda like a "cheat day". I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now.... and it is working AMAZINGLY!!! ;) Good luck!!!

Hello,
I too will be 8 months out as of 5/4/12. I was losing weight there for awhile and going steady. I have lost 60 pounds so far with the last 8 months but have not lost anything either for the last 2 months. It's really frustrating. I must admit I have been slacking a little but for the most part, I have not gained any weight which is fine by me. Hopefully we start to lose again soon because this not losing is irritating me. And let me point out that I do not come on here often but i'm REALLY sick of those band bashers. I don't beleive that there is any one surgery better then the other. So don't try to say any snarky a$$ comments to me ladies because I really could care less what you have to say.

Are you eating enough calories ? Everybody thinks that when you need to lose weight you need to cut calories and that is really the opposite .

You need enough calories for your body to burn and especially if you are doing any kind of exercise .

If you dont eat enough along with exercise your body will hang onto everything till you get to the point you have to drop even lower in calories and that can be dangerous .

I dropped my calories way to low and passed out during my Zumba class now I eat between 1200 to 1500 calories a day.

This is not accurate information.  The human body does not 'hang' on to anything.  You eat calories, in order to lose you burn more calories than you eat.  Of course, if you would like to show me peer reviewed journal articles that show otherwise, please feel free.  Most of what I see on the internet are untrained body builders spewing their nonsense.

Starvation mode is an excuse to eat more calories than we need.

You were banded quite awhile ago, I suspect you are at goal by now.  Congrats to you!

As others have said, increase your calorie count by 250 for a couple of weeks, change from all cardio to strength training or something else. Also you must get your protein and fluids in or you may stay stuck for longer.Wait patiently and it will happen.
Good luck
