Oh Lord.  You're going to get it now!  I remember responding to a post in which I stated that I would prefer to listen to my surgeon and his staff for advice instead of individuals on line.  I also added that I felt there was a certain amount of fear mongering going on.  BIG MISTAKE.  I got ripped up one side and down the other.

In the end, we all "made up", but it was brutal!

Good luck to you :)

I understand band failure is real. It is beat into me every time I look at this board.

I don't know what Maria F posted.

Again, I understand band failure is real and wouldn't be a great experience.

I am not "so called successful". I AM successful. I have maintained over 70% weight loss for the last 4 years and I am healthy and have great quality of life. I even had a baby after WLS. I hate my band somedays and love it others.

I do have compassion for people with band problems and never have given anyone a hard time because having a band is not easy so I don't have to worry about Karma.

Its lame you are disgusted with me and don't even know me. Posts like this are part of the reason I left and now only stop by occasionally. The support is hardly ever here if you have an issue losing weight. Its just band bashing 24/7.

" Many of us who consider ourselves successful have actually experienced complications, but consider our surgery a success in spite of that because we realisitcally understand that ALL WLS carry ricks of complications."
Very Well said, I have has vomiting issues lately ,my fault eating too fast so my band is
swollen and now I will have to drink more liquids and softer food for a couple of days.
But I have never regretted my band and would not change it for the world, it has worked for me... Lynne 7 yrs and going strong!

My friend who had RNY the same week as my lap band surgery (we met on these boards and have remained friends) has to have it reversed due to her pancrease something or other (sorry, I don't know the details as it's very painful for her to talk about).  All surgeries have risks.  Who said they didn't?
I've been on prednisone and chemo for over 7.5 years.  Gained over 160 pounds due to pred. Highest wt. 410. Surgery wt. 365. Current wt. 299
