I'm disgusted with all of you, the "successful banders"

That post was probably pulled because it was full of hateful, spiteful personal attacks.

I have had great success with my band and never said a negative word to anyone about how they work their programs.

I went into my surgery fully informed and am prepared for a day and time when my band stops working for me.

At that time, I will make a new, informed decision with the help of my medical team.

The broken record band bashing is getting old.

There is a big difference between rational information and personal experience, and what we have been reading in the past few months.

I give a lot of credit to Nic and others who have had medical problems caused by their bands, and I wish them nothing but good health.

It is harder to be empathetic to others.

Kath why would you assume that it was a hateful, spiteful personal attack??? And why was a hateful, spiteful person attack never a problem when Jean directed it at me?!

So if one gets a CRAP-BAND but it does not cause them medical problems (yet!) then they don't deserve support??? Wow!

Kath if your band works for you they way you claim, then you have been blessed! Why not enjoy the blessing that you have not criticize someone with a failed band?

I am not assuming what your words said -- I read them.
I was assuming the reason that the post was pulled.

I have not criticized anyone with a failed band.

"I am not assuming what your words said -- I read them."

And I wrote them. I also stand behind them. Everything I wrote was TRUE. That is more than I can say for some of the members here.

When you say "I give a lot of credit to Nic and others who have had medical problems caused by their bands, and I wish them nothing but good health.

It is harder to be empathetic to others."

It sounds like you ARE criticizing "others". Why not just come right out and say who "others" are?

Maria, I like you and Jean a lot.  I'm wondering why you're still writing about Jean after so many months (meaning when she learned she needed a revision)?  I remember just coming back here when that was happening and left again due to too much stress.  Why is it still going on???  I know I'm out of the loop as I haven't been back since then, but I can't believe we're still beating that dead horse (the jean aspect and her book...)???  help me understand is all.  If it's the same issue let's all stop.  Stress causes so many health problems including overreating.

Can't you ladies agree to disagree?
I've been on prednisone and chemo for over 7.5 years.  Gained over 160 pounds due to pred. Highest wt. 410. Surgery wt. 365. Current wt. 299

Yes, I'm still writing about her. She is still writing about me as well. When you say why is it still going on I'm assuming you mean on my part? Well Jean blocked me, and then the last few posts she made she wants to bring me up in her posts, so the question might need to be directed at her as well.

At least I am honest about it. I don't block ppl and then talk about them behind their backs.

Now as far as the last thread I posted that mentioned Jean, it was a warning for pre-ops. I don't think most pre-ops realize just how prevalent complications are with the band. And some of the band cheerleaders insinuate (if not outright say it) that complications happen to those that are non-compliant. Jean was notorious for that! Sometimes KARMA comes back and bites them in the ass.

And as far as agree to disagree, well I do have that arraignment with some of the cheerleaders on here, but Jean attacked me one too many times for that to happen!

Like I said, I just logged on tonight. I think jean and you would do best keeping each other out of posts, but I'm not sure either of you are ready for that. Thanks for answering and I hope you're doing well.

At the moment she seems to be pissed off b/c I informed the other bandsters about her planned revision (I understand there was too  much damage caused by her lap-band for them to revise her?). It appeared she wanted to keep that quiet for a certain reason.

As far as what Jean is ready for? I would not dare venture to guess on that one!

Everything has the potential of failure. There is no magic surgery. I don't care who it is or what they have, there is nothing out there that will work for everyone.
So this is why there are several wls forums for those who have the wls we have to discuss what we have and how we deal with it.
I know people who have had every type of wls out there and there are NONE that are the right one for everyone. So we research and do what we feel is best. Mistake or not. LapBand is not a mistake for everyone, but I sure have seen failures in every type of WLS. So why are there people out there who feel they are medically qualified to bash any WLS?? Really?

First consult 306, pre-op visit 278, surgery date 272, current 198
