I am happy that I have lost 67 lbs so far, but my weight loss has been very slow.  Lately I have been up and down a couple of lbs.  I may have slowed down my metabolism from not eating enough.  I have lost in inches from a lot of exercise, so I am trying to go by that right now.  The numbers on the scale do count though.

I would be happy with the inches lost. At my last check-up, my nurse (who has the band) said not to be surprised if you go a month without losing. It will catch up. She said to change up your exercise if that happens. Do something different. And, she co ti use to tell me "don't eat if you are not hungry. Your body will tell you when to feed it!" that has been very hard for me because was a time eater! I notice I have been eating a lot less (500-600) calories and still feeling great and losing 4-5 pounds a week. She said not Tao worry about not eating enough. Remember I am only 4 months out so I don't know if that makes a difference since I am still carrying tons of excess baggage around!

Thank you for responding.  I will have to try to just eat when I am hungry.  I have to admit, I have been snacking a little, and I think about food a lot.  You are right though, inches lost are a good thing.

Are you tracking everything you eat and all your exercise? If not, use MyFitnessPal. It really helps!

I am tracking my food and exercise on weigh****chers online.  Maybe I could do it on here for free.  Thanks.

I ate in a schedule when I was losing.

I started the day with water ... Then ate breakfast, had a small snack, ate lunch, had a small snack, ate dinner, had a small snack

All the while, drinking lots of calorie-free liquids in between.

I weigh and measure my food, and eat u til I don't want anymore or until it is gone and then I stop eating and wait to feel satisfied.

Eating on a schedule kept me from needlessly snacking and let me get in all of my fluids.

You can journal your food and exercise if you think you are understating.

Most people, ough underestimate how much they eat and overestimate how much they exercise.

You've lost 67 pounds in 5 1/2 months and you're frustrated?! Most bandsters would be THRILLED to lose that much in that amount of time.

You are right, I am happy with the weight loss so far.  I am just slowing down too much.

It is so easy to get obsessed. I was working out 2x everyday, obsessing about food, so frusterated when the scale wouldn't move for a week. I was complaining to a friend about how I just wanted to hit this certain number, when she asked me, "What will change when you get there?" she said, you will have to eat the same way, you will have to still exercise, still pick healthy choices, so what will change?
That gave me a bit of perspective, and I calmed down a bit. When I stopped obsessing the weight started coming off so much easier.
This is a journey. Enjoy the success you have had, and you will be able to enjoy future successes!
