I posted awhile back about being to tight...Well I called the doctors office and they said do smaller bites and take my time..I have been doing that and everything was fine for the last 2 months, now I am getting stuck almost every day and sometimes having to make myself throw up.I end up eatiing slidder foods to crave my hunger...I now have had for the past 2 days a bubble in my chest..I am almost positive it is gas...I take a few sips of "coke' and it goes away for awhile..I called today to see the doctor, I go Friday at 11:30..Possible unfill of the .6cc he put in back in June.I have a totoal of 4.6cc in my band...Can I take anything besides Coke until Friday.. Oh and I have gained 10 pounds since my fill in June   .       Lucky   i have had my band since 3/09

If you can't get anything down except liquids, they should see you today. I am shocked that they would make you wait until Friday? I would call them back and ask for an appointment ASAP. Also, if you can only get liquids down, you should get in some protein shake for some nutrition.

Good luck!

I agree with Jamie I dont know why your doc would make you wait that isnt good today is Wed and Friday is way to long to wait for something like this.

My doc's rules are if you are to tight and the day you call in is the day he will see you (if not  him his nurse)

I would call back and demand to get in today

I think it all goes back to you being too tight, the bubble feeling may not be gas maybe it is just tightness (try gas-x if it is gas that should work it out), the weight gain is from having to eat sliders. He should have given you a small unfill when you asked for it. He needs to pay more attention to what you feel.

Hi Lucky,
I just went through this last week. I have been gradually getting tighter and tighter until it finally dawned on me that I was eating just the way you described. I haven't been able to lose, either. I called my surgeons office and they didn't have anything for a full week. The last time this happened the PA told me that the girls at the front desk just don't realize that an unfill is an emergency situation. So, I called back to leave a message for the nurse and got a call back within 1/2 hour and was asked to come in immediately. I let them know what the desk had done.
I ended up with a total unfill, an immediate UGI, and an appointment to see the surgeon in 2 weeks. I feel much better. I have been able to eat some things that have not been an option for 2 years, (like a grilled buger IN A BUN).  I know things are still inflammed in there because I can still get stuck. I hope things calm down soon.

Good luck with yours and keep us posted.
Sue

I started having similar issues my 2nd yr and the 3rd got much worse.  It had to be removed and I converted to a RNY.  I am so glad to no longer have the pain.  I started at 280 and lost to 219 the first year.  I was a perfect band pt and the Dr said that was about right with the band.  Keep a close eye on your issues.
