self pay patients
Mine were $225 for a fill or unfill. Had I known then that my insurance would change after I got my band I would never have gotten it. I must have paid close to $1000 for fills and unfills until I gave up and had a total unfill because the band never worked for me anyway! So if you are self pay you need to be able to pay for at least 10 fills and maybe that many unfills before you get any decent restriction. Like I said If I knew then what I know now I would never have gotten a band!

My initial 3 months were free but after that they are $150, though my insurance covers them. If I was not sure my insurance situation was stable I would not get a band. While I still love mine I admit that I have had more unfills than fills and I sure couldn't afford that on my own. Without insurance coverage fills would be optional but unfills are always an emergency unless for personal reasons.
It is my opinion that anyone who is self pay should probably not get a band. They are just too unpredictable. Mine certainly has a mind of it's own.
