frustrated by VERY slow progress

I am so glad you shared that information.  I have thought that I needed to get fills to prevent me from eating foods that I am not supposed to eat.  I had it all wrong.  I was banded last May and have lost 46 lbs.  My doctor has been taking it slow with me and not just giving me refills for the hell of it.  He is talking with me and having others like nutrionist and hospital social worker working with me to resolve some of my issues.

No water 30 min. before, during or till 60 min after.....those are my docs rules......not convinced about the 30 before but the others are crucial in my opinion....

Even when I was too tight I have always been able to eat just about everything including bread, pasta and rice (only dry hamburg was hard for me at my tightest)..... although the breads and pasta (never been a big pasta eater) I eat are gluten free which may have something to do with it........

The band for me works best with solid protein and following the water rules.......the band for me restricts my portion size of solid protein 4-6 oz (6 for fish) and lessens my hunger between meals........that's it nothing more nothing less....I wouldn't but could eat a pan of brownies, a bag of Hershey kisses or potato chips...point being just because I can doesn't mean I should....the band for me is just a little helper most of the work is up to me......... I realize that now after a gain after an unfill.....

I wanted to post on this because the person who asked the initial question sounded a lot like me. I was banded on 11/11/11,lost 20 lbs pre op and 20 post op....... I have had 3 fills and am filled to 5cc. Im very uneducated on the band. I am on my own, I have only told close family members about my surgery and live in a tiny tiny town 2 hours from my surgeon. With that said everything I learn is on the web.
Anyways.... over the past month I have gained weight. I feel like the band just isnt working for me, I read how people are restricted, vomit, get things stuck, cant eat this, have to chew chew chew..... I HATE to say this, and I dont understand why, but I have not vomited once, have not got anything stuck, or have to really chew chew chew. I have had NONE of these issues.
In the beginning I was watching the common "Problem foods" and really chewing. I wanted to try to avoid vomiting or getting things stuck. After a few months I realized, after trying things slowly, that I didnt have ANY of the issues other banders were?!?!?!?! I wish I did have to watch the foods I eat, and really chew because I feel like if I did then I wouldnt eat half the junk I can eat now. My question is, is this possibly because im not filled enough (for me? I know everyones different). My doc has been scheduling my appt (fills) every 6 weeks, so I will have another in a few weeks. Also my portion size is WAY more than what you all say should keep me full. The bottom line is, I can eat EXACTLY the same I did b4, and to me, thats not a god thing :( help please???

warm sugar...yes i did back in 07 til 2010...RIP crapband..i dont miss it at all. it feels good to eat like a normal person without the stuck face and pain at the table and actually be full off so little and never get hungry. i dont miss my stomach either. revising was the best decision ever.
