I have never had band problems when I travel, but this past Tuesday was awful.

I got sick during take off and it set off a whole day of not being able to eat or drink.

I had a layover and then a second flight and was pretty much barfing all day.

By the time I got home, my docs office was closed and I didn't want to bother them, so I spent all night feeling awful.

I was fine the next morning and did liquids all day yesterday.

I went in today and asked him to take out a1/2 cc.

We have been talking on the PS forum here and several people note not being able to eat as much after a tummy tuck.

I was down to only eating 2 oz of protein at a time, so thing the little adjustment is a good idea overall.

I have lost 8 pounds since my tt 6 weeks ago.

Tomato bisque for dinner ....... Wahoo!!

Glad to see you’re feeling better. Make sure you are taking in enough protein; fluids and following all the rules.

With that said, know that flying in a plane can affect your band. The “pressure" in the plane has been known to cause discomfort to us banders. While I never had that issue, I know many who have. Remember the cabin in pressurized, and can “press" on your stomach.

Speak to your Doctor about this. If you fly infrequently, you may want to have some “taken out" while you’re between flights.

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom

Thanks, Tom.

I am a frequent flyer (Platinum status on more than 1 carrier) and have never had an issue with my band while flying.

However, this was my first flight since my Tummy Tuck --- and things are definitely tighter than they were before.

I went in yesterday and got some fluid out -- I would rather control my portions and food choices than risk having that happen again.

I am loading up on fluids and I am just about back to 'full protein' strength --- eating soft food for 1 more day, and will try something a little more solid tomorrow.

thanks for the encouragement!
Kath
