I am making enchilades tomorrow for dinner my family loves them.  I do use low carb  / high fiber tortillas . Its like 19 carbs but it has a whopping 13 grams of fiber in it !!!!

When I make them I put about three or four tablespoons of rice in it , if that much sometimes its just two .  The serving size according to the pkg is 1 cup of rice.  Do you all even list that you ate three tablespoons of rice ?   and Im not even sure how to put that into my fitness pal.

I am horrid at math lmao !! So if you all do measure it how would I put that into my fitness pal ?

Thanks

I log every single thing that goes in my mouth. There is 16 tablespoons in a cup, so I would log it as .2 of a serving if I used three, and .25 if I used 4.

No problem! I use google to help me figure out that kind of stuff LOL You will be amazed at how those little bites add up! You can friend me on MFP if you like, I am tripmom02 over there too. I log every day and have a great group of WLS people who are a great help and support. We do a roll call once in a while and its a great way to find friends with like goals!

When I was first banded a long time ago, LOL, my Dr had us measure, by weight our food, we were allowed 4 oz. After awhile I just started using my small ramekin bowls to put my food into. Now, sometimes I eyeball it. So I would probably eat 1 regular enchilada. You can go onto certain websites and make your own recipes that have exactly what you put into it and "save" it so you can add your exact calories. Not sure how to put it into your fitness pal, I would probably put that question into the search engine and see what came up. Good luck!!

Mari,

My first 6-8  months I was so good about measuring to a "T" and that is why I dropped 60 pounds so fast .  Well fast forward a yr now and I'm eyeballing my food and getting careless on my eating .  Eating things that I never dreamed of eating the first six months of my surgery . I know that is why my weight loss has come to a complete standstill .  My eyeballs was starting to get a little big on me . So,  I went to my store and picked up a really nice scale and starting to measure things out again that is when I was successful.

I just got lazy and the stress has been horrid here at the house about money and I have been stress eating *sigh*.  I know what I'm doing wrong the problem is getting it fixed and to stop doing it that is hard especially when you are worried about money :o(

I need to get my mind back into the game and your challenge came around at the right time so far its keeping me focused except for yesterday lol. Yesterday was bad we just got our taxes done and it wasn't pretty .

Courtney , thanks i will look you up !!! I would love to get support on WLS and especially the nutrition aspect of  things. That is my weak link sometimes trying to lose weight :o)

Yeah, me too. I followed the rules to a "T" the first 8 months and lost 86 lbs. Our Dr also said a deck of cards is about 4 oz so you can picture that. I "feel" ya with the stress, one of my son's is joining the military and leaving in a few weeks. (I had 2 Oreos last night after eating a WW ice cream)
I hate to exercise and have been making myself to it. I do a power walk, at night, around our neighborhood and do a exercise DVD, during the day at home, then go to the gym 1-2 times week to use the weight machines. And I do it kicking and screaming the whole way. LOL This is no easy journey, but it helps to have others to share it all together!

My son will be leaving for the military next yr he is going into the Air Force . I got him one more yr and then he will be off .  That will be hard on me he is my only child    You are one busy lady lol. WOW !!!

I'm not very fond of exercise either expect for my Zumba.  I just love my teacher and that is why I go lol . If it wasn't for his class I will be totally honest my exercise would be awful .  I dont like to exercise alone its boring and I dont know anybody that wants to exercise with me.  All my friends work .

This knee injury has me sidelined also . I went to class tonight but couldn't do 100% and I hate that.  I'm going to start walking again on Monday.  When I was watching my food and walking every day four yrs ago I took some inches off me .  I lost so many inches just from walking .  I lost most of it in my thighs and butt and those are my problem areas.

No this isn't a easy journey  .  My dad thinks the weight should just drop off because I had WLS and I try to tell him it still comes back down to eating right and exercise .  I can eat junk food all day long if I want to , once you figure it out  it's so easy to eat around the band or any surgery for that matter.    But I have learned alot to also so that is good thing .

Depends on how closely you want to monitor, but 4 tablespoons is 1/4 cup and those things add up both calorie wise and carb wise.

I would probably put it down as 1/4 cup.

thanks Kath :o)

I'm really getting back into watching what I put in things and putting it into Fitness pal no matter how bad it is .

I got off track doing that and old habits was starting to creep back up again so got to nip it in the bud before it sky rockets out of control.

I really think this is  why I'm losing and gaining the same 10 pounds all the time. I think  ( I know !! ) was eating more then I was letting on .  Not huge portions because I cant but not counting everything that I was putting into meals like 2 or 3 tablespoons of this or that.  And you are right calories and carbs do add up on them things and I believe that has been my downfall lately .
