having pain
I had my lapband put in about 5 weeks age. I've done well, but haven't lost a lot weight with it yet. Yesterday I had a bad day and overate at lunch. By yesterday afternoon I started having mid sternal pain. It's sore to palpate and bend over. I sneezed today and thought I was going to cry. I called my doc and he said he thought I just pulled something. It concerns me because of the timing of the pain and my over eating. Has anyone else had this problem?
I also wanted to know if it was ok to take Ibuprofen with the lapband?

It's a really REALLY bad idea to use NSAIDS with the band. Don't do it, it ain't worth it.

My band surgeon allowed me to take them sparingly due to injuries from a car accident. I ended up being hospitalized with IBS within two weeks. It's the gift that keeps on giving too.
You can get pain from over eating. I think it might be the pressure of the food backing up. At least that is what it feels like for me.
As for loosing weight, it takes time for our bodies to recover from surgery. The anesthesia can take up to 1 month to fully leave your body, not to mention the overall recovery you are doing. Don't start worrying about weight loss until you start having fills.
