port site pain

 For quite awhile now I have been having pain at my port site, it appears to be close to my ribs and sitting ,or lying on my side makes it painful. Has anyone else had experience with their port being aggravated by the proximity to their ribs? 

It could probably be a lot of things. Is it red or swollen? If so,it could be a port infection. I would give your Dr's office a call.  I had pain under my port (no redness or swelling) and went into my Dr, I had to get a UGI and found out I have a small hiatal hernia, but yours could be something else. Mine hurt after I ate and it was associated with a lot of gas pains, when I burped it felt better.

 I had a hernia repair done at time of surgery, its not red or swollen, but like a constant nagging pain that sometimes appears to be deep. I see Dr. B on thursday for maybe a small fill, I will ask him then for his opinion. Thanks for your input, much appreciated

I had that feeling for about two weeks after surgery with the hernia repair. It went away and I haven't had any pain since.
