Looking for a positive support buddy
Hey Karen! Thanks for your note. Wow just 10 more pounds thst's fantastic and I am sure you can do it! The last ten are the hardest but maybe the most rewarding.
Do you watch the Biggest Loser? I find that show so motivating. Every week they astound me with the ability to work out as hard as they do and lose big weight!
Let's be buddies!
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi my name is lakenda and I just had surgery (lap band) on 2/16/12 I started at 326 and last weigh in was on 3/21 at 309. I had 1st adjustment on the same day & it wasnt bad at all I was somewhat full & not full. I'm ok on somedays & others I get it bad. I try to control the urge of drowning & I can pat myself on the back because I soar through the agony of not over indulging. I do look for support and encouragement because it is hard . Hope to keep in touch :-)

Hey lady! Long time no see! Some of us are still sticking it out over here!
I think a lot of the negative folks here (and not everyone who has had their band fail them is negative) mean well, but simply fail to see how stridently they come across. They are passionate about what they feel, but much of the communication comes across as "well you're having X problem because the band sucks. You should revise to something else" and "You may like your band now, but the band sucks and it will eventually hurt you so don't get too comfortable."
Many of them seem to think that X surgery or Y surgery is so much better, but, having visited the failed WLS board, there appears to be representation there from all surgery types.
There's no real solution I think. Those who are angry are going to keep being angry until....well, I don't know until what. Until the band is off the market maybe?
It's important for some of us who are doing OK (and by that I don't mean perfectly) to stick around and provide some balance. It can be kind of tiring though.

Wow! A friend from the past, how wonderful to hear from you.
Congratulations on baby #2!! And, you're keeping your weight in check, during pregnancy and that's awesome! Do you know if the new baby is a boy or girl?
My daughter is in college in Northern CA and has a year and a half to go on a double major / double minor. I can't wait for her to graduate!
So good to see you again. I hope continues to go smoothly with your pregnancy.

I am newly banded and would love someone to have positive support to me negative does not have a place. If we have problems lets work on them together! I had my stomach stappled in 99 and was marginally successful and then took it to a new step without family support ( husband very supportiive) but had no support and do not want to do the same thing again! terrified of not succeeding and need to set up suport system!
Well, good luck with your journey!
It's important to have the support of family. My husband is really an awesome guy in so many ways. He is very supportive of me.
I hope your husband continues to be supportive even if the rest of your family is not. Is there a local support group your Dr can refer you too? I know that my Dr recommended that for me after my surgery.
I wish you much success-
