I'm Expecting

I don't post here often as I normally just lurk from my phone but I wanted to see if anyone can relate so I hopped on the real computer.

I was only about a year out from my surgery when I found out that my husband and I are expecting our 3rd and FINAL child. ( Ortho Novum Recall) I'm currently 18 weeks and have gained a total of 5 pounds. I'm doing well with my gain but it's really hard to watch the scale go up, even if it is for a good cause. It's really hard to work out too since I can't get my heart rate above 140. I'm use to pushing myself and its hard to slow down.

Can anyone else relate? Did you lose again after you had a baby post surgery?

My first baby was a band baby! I gained about 23 lbs, went home weighing only 4 lbs more than my pre-pregnancy weight, and was below baseline within a week. I'm pregnant with my 2nd now, I'm 25 weeks and I've gained about 12 lbs. Don't worry about the weight part right now!

Also, there's a pregnenacy and WLS board with lots of great people and info, so stop on by!

Banded 03/22/06  276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)

Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.

Thank you. My goal is to not gain more than 25 pounds this pregnancy. My first I gained about 65 pounds and my second about 40. I left the hospital weighing more than when I went in with my second baby.

Did you experience any port discomfort or anything like that? I will try to find that group. It's weird not being on mobile.

I can't relate because I got my band well after my babies but I just wanted to say Congratulations!!!  I think 25lbs sounds like a reasonable and healthy goal!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I got pregnant about 6 months post-op, with twins! They didn't want to mess around so took all of the fluid out. I gained 65 lbs. Ugh! But my boys are 7 months old and I've lost the baby weight, now I'm just trying to get back to my sweet spot. Looking back, I wish I had protested their decision to take all the fluid out, my OB didn't want me to gain more than 30. Oops! But, I delivered two big, healthy boys, and that's the most important thing. I did not experience any port discomfort at any time while pregnant.

Good luck!
