I hope Carnie Wilson checks out the forum before getting banded
I believe so based on the oil/fat in the toliet that was never there before I had RNY. While my pouch is LARGE my opening isn't and he did bypass the correct amount of intestines. He was very conservative on pouch size. I am also iron deficient so I would also believe so! And I eat a **** load of meat!

We NEED fat in our diets to lose weight. What we don't need are the white carbs. That one is all us. There is no surgery type that deals with white carbs.
I honestly think the only reason I do not struggle with goal is because sugar is not my thing. Flour is. Anything with flour, I live in MX. Do you have any idea how good tortillas are? I'm talking tortillas made at home by some little old lady. OMG, heaven in your mouth.
But sugar? Cake, pies, cookies... I can take 'em or leave 'em. I think sugar is far harder to deal with than flour. It really is like an addiction. It's an 'all or none' kinda thing.
Now, if sugar was my trigger I'd get over it in a hurry in MX. Everything with sugar also has chili powder. GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 16y/o neighbor and I go shopping, a fancy store here has fancy candy. It ALL has chili powder. She always dares me to try her candy. UGH! It is disgusting.
But a tortilla? Can't have just one, gotta have 12. I have to wait for a tortilla to digest so I can have another. A teaspoon of gravy and I'm craving white carbs for days.
Sometimes food issues just suck.
Do you have any idea how good NEW YORK BAGELS are? LOL. Bagels to me are tortillas to you. I am a volume eater anyway, not a snacker and don't have a sweet tooth. Oh, and maybe the better comparison to tortillas = bagels = red wine!
I haven't eaten any "bread" since surgery. I do eat carbs, like starchy veggies and also some whole weat pasta but bread was a big down fall.
Glad I've gotten to chat with you over the past 24 hours and thanks for sticking up for me last night!

NY bagels? Holy crap, now I can't think of anything else. In Phoenix we had this place called Chompys, they had the everything bagel. Dang, it was to die for. Butter, broiler..... ahhhhh...
No, I do not believe I could survive a NY bagel. I already heard about pizza there and I sure well know I could not pass up that! Thankfully, pizza here is gross. Well, not gross but not good. Dirt cheap delivered, but not the best you ever had by a long shot!
I have a confession. Yesterday my best friend took me to the US and we went shopping all day. Poor guy, he actually stood there holding my bags of purchases and my purse. Yeah, he's that good of a friend. Well, he took me to Pizza Hut for lunch. REAL pizza....well, real in MY world. I actually wrapped two pieces of buffet pizza in a napkin and put it in my purse. Seriously, is there any other way to steal? Kenny paid for the food, I paid for the tip. I tipped her $5.00 for a $17.00 meal out of guilt.
But... I got US pizza. Yummm... of course, now I'll be craving carbs for the next FIVE days!
Good for you. I always tell people I didn't have the surgery to be on a diet the rest of my life but to make more sensible selections and eat a lot less than I used to. However, that being said, I've tried pizza and I cannot do it. I don't know if the crust wasn't crusty enough or if I ate it too fast, but, it all came back up. I miss pizza bc well, there is a fabulous NY pizza shop on the corner of my street. What people fail to realize about us dieters or WLS patients in NYC is that we are SURROUNDED BY FOOD. Plus, we walk everywhere so we walk by it, we don't have the choice to drive by.
