For starters, I believe in general men lose faster then woman, and if someone is starting at a higher BMI, they seem to lose weight very quickly in the very beginning stages of all WLS. If he lost 200 lbs, then he must have been SMO.
We just had our very first male sign up over at the Failed Bands Group, and while I'm always happy to welcome another person in need of our support, I hate the reason which brought him to our group, but I'm happy to have a males POV.
As far as perception of why some lose a lot more or a lot less, then I would imagine that, that would be predicated on each individual es pre-op EWL to lose. There is no way I could have ever lost 200 lbs, because I would have ended up weighing 56 lbs.
