Oh my. What is the Vegus nerve? I've never even heard of it.

Actually I don't know a lot about the Vegus nerve. I know it can cause the referring left shoulder pain, and that also that nerve has an effect on a lot of other areas of the body and has been known to cause various problems for many bandsters. N.M. will probably see this post and respond. She's kind of our expert on Vegus nerve complications.

Good luck hun!

I was recently diagnosed with gastritis in my pouch. It's been almost 3 months now. I have very similar symptoms. I will be having my band removed soon. You might consider talking to a GI doc and getting an endoscopy.

I  wish you luck with your surgery. Will they be able to replace the band in the future?

Oh no! I will never have a band again. My wls journey will end with my removal. After everything I've been through I am more determined than ever to do it on my own. After all it's been just me the last few years anyway.

I am glad to here you already have an appointment with a GI doc. Ask them about the possibility of it being band related, too. If after they complete their testing they feel it is then ask for a referral to a bariactic surgeon. They might be able to get you in with someone better than you could for yourself. No matter what the cause you must have a bariatric surgeon to follow you. You should never attempt to fly solo with one of these buggers. Insist, if you must, that someone see you.

I have similar symptoms but mine are my IBS, especially when I puff up like that, but you should not assume anything.

Good luck and keep us posted, please. Sue
