What's going on???

I am 5 days post op Lap Band surgery. Until yesterday evening, I was having a hard time getting much down. I'm drinking Isopure and they told me that it wasn't unusual for someone to only be able to get 300 or so calories in immediately after surgery. Weird thing is, today all of the sudden, it's 12:30 and it's going down just fine. In fact, I've nearly gone through an entire 20 oz bottle this morning. My question....I know I haven't had a fill yet, and this is a clear liquid...is it just possible that the swelling has gone down enough that liquids are going right through? OR is there a possibility that my band has slipped??? I'm not sick, I just don't feel any restriction AT ALL....
Not a slip hun. The swelling is reducing. This can be at different times and to different degrees for everyone. After I got the band I had NO appetite at all for the first 2 wks. b/c of the swelling. Others are hungry from the beginning. It's a very individual thing, and I think what you're experiencing is normal.
Good luck!
...IMO, it's because we have two sides to ourselves: our self that we show the world (EGO) and our true inner self (Soul). That ego is always trying to trip us up and make us doubt ourselves. "What if" questions are its specialty .
P.S. Welcome to the loser's bench! Maria is right...this is normal. You may be hungry alot before you get your first fill but it's a normal part of "bandster hell" (that time between surgery and the first few fills it generally takes to reach your green zone). Be patient and ignore the scale for now.

If anything, typically, when one has a slip, you get the opposite effect: total obstruction! It sounds like you're just fine. With an unfilled band you are unlikely to experience restriction with liquids after the sweilling subsides.
