Thanks, Maria.  It's crazy... people who were telling me I was a dick a couple of years ago are asking me about the left shoulder pain now.  My first reaction is to tell them to shove it... because sometimes I AM a dick.     But then I remember how awful I felt and I try to help, if I can. 9 years is a long time to watch this happen over and over and over.
It scares me that we're going to end up all damaged and in chronic pain.

Well I did it. I called his office. Spoke to Rebecca. She claims that he still has the band and has had no complications at 3 yrs. out. When I asked her about long term with the band she said he has a lot of patients that are 5 years out with the band. When I asked her about WHAT % of those he banded made it 5 years she got very evasive and never told me.

Dr. Curry has not been on here in some time. He has had a patient or 2 on here complaining about thim though.

As to weather or not he still has his band.........that has been brought up as well. Personally I think he has either quietly revised........or at the very least is having band complications just like almost everyone else that has been able to keep a band in that length of time.

If you look at the Lap band forum page he is still a contributor, there are MANY MANY long time lap banders that choose NOT to post in this toxic lap band environment anymore including myself, and yes he is still banded and still call himself the lap band doctor based on his website.

I am sure he got sick and tired of trying to help people that refused to follow proper band guidelines, some even flamed him, I would not blame him for stop posting, his wife and her sister are also banded.

Everyone that follows the rules and don't keep their bands dangerously too tight usually don't have any problems...edited to add unless they suffer a port infection, or port leak/band or other mechanical issue beyond their control.
