Six months out with lapband
That will vary greatly from person to person. It will also vary greatly the % of weight lost b/c of the band.......or b/c of other efforts. I would guess I lost 30-40 pounds the first 6 months. However the only part of that that was due to the band was the first 2 wks. when I had no appetite b/c of the swelling from the surgery. The rest of weight lost during the next 5 1/2 months were strictly from dieting. I never had restriction during this time other than those 2 wks. Actually didn't really get any untill almost 2 1/2 years out!
Now there are others that lose a large % of their weight from exercise. I have seen several post that became addicted to exercise so this was how they lost most of their weight.
Then yet others do low carb/WW/Jenny Craig/etc.
Also one thing to consider if you are comparing tickers is that some include the weight that they lost pre-op in with their post-band weight on the ticker. So if you are looking at tickers of those banded about the same time as you and it appears they have lost a lot more weight than u since banding, that's not always the case.
Good luck! :-)
on April 20 i will be officially six months....
as of today, i am 71 lbs. that includes 10 lbs pre op, so 61 lbs. that's an average of a bit over 10 ;bs/month. I can handle that .
I have the large lapband, and currently have had ONE fill...2.5 cc's. There are days when i am starving, and there are days when i am not. I bet that's how a lot of "normal weighted" people are...
