I hear 'ya. I'm sorry you are dealing with issues. You've worked so hard and have accomplished so much. It's hard to see something start to go wrong.
My band was absolutely great for a good while and right around the 2 year mark, I started having issues. Please know I'm thinking about you and hope for the best in this situation.

Sorry hun. I had the same issue - it semi resolves but really doesn't. I want you to know that I was a great bandster. I did not puke or over stuff myself. My esophagus just could not take the pressure from the band - and it was never tight. Just the luck of the draw. I had two dilations I believe 2 years apart. The final one I did not detect at all - I had no symptoms, none. I was happiest I ever was with the band. I actually went in for a fill and my doc said because it's been over a year since you've had a fill, lets do a UGI. And that is when the devastation began.
My doc says the esophagus sort of gets stretch marks and so it is easy to happen again. My best friend is on his 3rd esophageal dilation but he has a doc that would never consider revising to anything but the band. He's had 7 band surgeries. I had installation, port flip (freshly post-op - manipulated into place), port & tubing revision, and removal.
Whatever anyone here says, it is not your fault. You can hang in there with an unfill for at least 2 mos & then start to have teeny fills (I did). The problem is our esophagus keeps getting damaged in the process so if you decide to revise you may still have esophageal functioning issues - there are sleeved people I know like that. I personally am great. Honest, honest, honest hun I am most normal with the sleeve. My doc says "now you have the stomach you wished you were born with" can I say that is so fricken true. My sleeve stomach is so gentle to me - I love my stomach like this.
And don't you dare give up no matter what route you take - even keeping your band.
May God Bless you!
Leila
