I have to ask, what size band do you have? Were they small fills?
I have a 14cc band with 5.75 in, so I am just wondering were they small fills?
I have an appointment on 4/12 and may get another small fill, but I noticed with the heat last week my band was tighter.. so..

I have the 10cc. The first 2 fills were large. 3 and then 2. After that they were small fills. Along with the 19 fills there were also 4 partial unfills. It would either be too loose or too tight. I was never able to get a happy medium prior to this. Even after I gave up on the band though, I did continue with the "band rules" b/c I thought maybe that was helping in my weight loss.

Thanks Melly. And I'm so excited that you'll be revising. I always hear from former bandsters that VSG works the way the band was suppose to, so I know you're gonna do awesome with it!

Congrats on getting some restriction, it's been a long time comin'.  Can you tell me more about your 30g protein shake?  Do you like it?  Brand?  Where do you get it from, etc?

These are the ones I like:

Lean Dessert Protein from BSN Online!

The Lean Dessert is 21g/serving, and directions say to mix 1 scoop of it with 4-5 oz. of fluid. This tastes too strong for me. I use my Blender Bottle and mix 1 1/2 scoops with 12 oz. of Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk. That almond milk has just 35 calories per 8 oz.

I also use Premier Chocolate RTD. and Premier Vanilla RTD.

This is a good one too, but just 25g:

Labrada Lean Body

These are good also:

Small 8 oz. size of
Chocolate Milkshake RTD protein.
It has 18 g of protein!

This is what I have been buying on the Oh Yeah! protein. They do have a larger bottle though, and I think the large one is either 25 or 30g.

And if I'm doing protein bars, it is usually Power Crunch, Zone Perfect, Oh Yeah! Wafers.

Congratulations!!!  I had some restriction for about 3 months when I was around a year out - I was so excited!!  I really hope it maintains for you!

Ironically, I am having my band out tomorrow and for the last week I have been either completely in the sweet spot or too tight.  Haven't had a fill in 18mos, just random.

But, like you, even with the restriction, I am not regretting my decision to remove it.  My body is permanently damaged from the band and I haven' lost a meaningful amount of weight.  I have followed the rules since day one (no drinking before and after meals, no bite larger than a die, no soda, etc) and it just wasn't right for me.

Here's to the sweet spot!
