Tell me what kind of med is it. I want some. That would be an answer to my prayers to have a loss of appetite. Yea I know with the band I couldn't eat what as considered healthy food. Like chicken and fish the would get stuck

First, you look amazing whether it is 66 or 76! Good for you.

Secondly, my mother in law is having her band out and revised on Friday (she's doing a RNY) and she is 73.

Yes, you can have some saline put in if that's your choice, just go slow and see how you feel.

My band is coming out tomorrow and it CANNOT happen soon enough for me! Just wasn't right for me.

Talk to your surgeon and see what your fill/revision options are.

Best of luck...

I don't know if I want to go through all of that again. Who is your doctor? Besides I don't know if Medicare would pay for another surgery. Let me know how all this works out for you

Sorry for all you folksa re going through but at the same time it's nice to know I am not alone.

Firstly, I can't believe you are 76...even if the pic is 10 yrs old you look incredible!!!

I had my band in almost two years ago...lost 50 pounds initially and then stalled for months and months. The past few months I have been having problems....had a fill to 3ccs in a 13 cc band about two months ago and spent the next month puking.  The only thing going down was junk and sliders.  I had a little removed and felt a bit better but now I'm feeling so tight gain. When I eat dense protein ( and can actually get it down) i get this pain right below my breastbone.  WTH???

Since I don't even know that the band is still in there, no difficulties, sometimes it will kind of let me know it is there by getting a little clogged up with certain foods, like bread and pasta. but, that is a good thing I guess. Anyway, for the time being, I will just be fat and sassy. Look at Oprah, the richest and probably one of the happiest women in the U.S., and she is definitely FAT.. The bad thing is I know it isn't good for my health. I think I will go make some ginger cookies!!

I'm glad you mentioned that. That has always perplexed me why Oprah has not had WLS. Now some obese/MO ppl are truely comfortalbe with theirselves as they are. But O is not. She has done MANY diets, only to be successfull just temporarily. And O is a very intelligent woman. She is well aware of the health risks of being obese/MO. I have never understood why with her resources that she has not opted for WLS.......or has she? I remember one time she lost tons of weight and was so skinny. Could she have had WLS and then re-gained??? One never knows. It's sad that so many that have had WLS are not open about it.

And speaking of COOKIES.............

Oprah never had WLS.  She's about as anti-WLS as one can get.  She's been very open about this.  If she was interviewing someone that lost 50# on their own or someone who lost 200# with WLS she would all but ignore the WLS person and praise the one who did it on their own non stop.  It's really too late for her to do it now.  She's been soooo out spoken about how bad WLS is she'd look very silly getting it done now.
