You really want that book??? Really?!

Let's think about this.......
.Bandwagon: Strategies for Success With the Adjustable Gastric Band. Correct me if I'm wrong but the author did NOT have success with her band! She had multiple complications and is now getting rid of her band!

Now in fairness, I'm sure there is *some* helpful info in there, just as there is helpful info on this band forum. I'd save my money if I were you and not get the book by a failed bandster on how to be a  "successful" bandster, lol. After all, that's kind of like buying a
Strategies for Success With Marriage book by someone that's been divorced 4 times.

Geez Maria. You are way out of line here and your post borders on slander. You admittedly have not read this excellent book.  but I amnot going to try to change your position..you have made it oh so clear.

to the OP:   Jean has written an excellent book that has saved my neck (pouch) more than a few times.   Jean was SUCCESSFUL with her band and has helped countless others with her book and help on this site.  Just because she had a complication, doesnt mean e erything in her book is wrong!

pm me if you haven't got a copy yet ...I might be able to help though it's a bit dog-earned from use!

I really don't see how there is any slander there. It is what it is. Perhaps if you looked back over some of her prior post to me you would see how she has slandered ME previously!

Bette I have a lot of sympathy for most bandsters that have complications, but after the way jean has blamed bandsters for causing their issues, and accused them of lying about it, it's hard to have sympathy for her! Especially after she is still trying to profit from desperate bandsters by telling them to be "successful" with their bands! :-(

Bette...

In all fairness you have to know that Jean does promote the attitude that if someone has band problems they did something wrong.  Statistically speaking, that's not fair.  Now she's selling a book on how to be successful with a band and she is revising to a sleeve.

Fairness... just fairness.

I think the book is great for bandsters but there will always be the negative folks trying to convince you to try "their surgery" over the gastric band.  I love my band and don't post because of the the people that want / need to see their remarks.  Kinda like those that feel compelled to respond to every reply on the Lab Band Forum with negative responses.

Lol. I never try to convince anyone that "my surgery" is the best.

But anyway..........there is negative and positive about the band. Why should EVERYONE not have a right to tell their experience? That's only fair, right?

I'm glad you love your band. I hope that continues. Unfortunately.......it doesn't for most bandsters. Perhaps you will be one of the lucky ones?

I really don't know why you would not want to post on the band forum b/c others have differing opinions. You will never find anyone that will agree with you completely. I have friends that are bandsters and love their bands. Do I agree with them? No. But as long as we both have respect for each other, that's kind of irrelevent.

I hope your band experience is one of the "happily ever afters".

Ditto to Maria F.

Remember Jean did not come right out and admit she was having issues with her band? She started having issues a few months back, maybe December?  She needs to stop being in denial.  I can not believe she does not consider this a failure at all.

Also where is Lisa O?  Is she having issues and in denial too?

Failures can happen even if we were 150% compliant!
