Experienced first stuck/slime issue!

I hear that! I have stories.... But not tonight. Some chicken I do ok. Roasted chicken seems very moist. And it does depend on the tightness I used to count my chews. Minimum of 35. 6 yrs later even when band was unfuilled I had developed a very good chewing habit. And every now and then when something isn't chewed up and just won't , me and my napkin are very good friends. Sounds gross but better than sliming everyone! My band is about perfect now. I can eat but it is helping me. I've learned more about how it works and that it is a helping tool and not to be so tight it stops me from eating. Ever have a stuck banana? It's the pits! It won't go anywhere as you writhe in pain. I only eat slightly ripe ones now and take small bites and chew em to pieces. Good luck on your journey. And remember trial and error and lotsa chewing!

Sorry about your chicken episode...If chicken, or any other food is too dry, it can cause difficulty passing through the newly narrowed opening to your stomach.  Pre-cut all of your foods (think toddler size pieces).  Also, avoid drinking beverages with your meals.  Speak to you soon!

Hey Pamela. I did cut it pretty tiny. The issue i think ,is that I ate it too quickly. I've been having to constantly remind myself that I need to wait in between each bite. Hopefully this is the first and last stuck issue i get!
See you soon!

Last night I ate a piece of chicken breast and apparently it was too dry. Even though I thought i chewed enough, boy was I wrong! The pain i felt was followed by more pain!! I hope I never have to feel that again. I now understand what the slimming is! It seems to be very hard to chew to oblivion and put the fork down. I have now learned my lesson. My days of eating quickly until I feel full are gone! In order to get rid of the pain, I jumped up and down, jogged around the house and finally the pain left...its safe to say I don't want to see another piece of chicken until I forget the pain I felt last night.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Always keep those individual serving size cans of pineapple juice on hand.  Pineapple juice dissolves chicken.

When I was banded I even kept one in my purse!
